Schweiz Glaukom

Glaucoma is a serious eye disease that damages the optic nerve.

This nerve is important as it transmits the images we see to the brain. If the optic nerve is damaged, our vision can gradually deteriorate and, in the worst case, we can go blind.

Glaucoma is often caused by excessive pressure in the eye, but can also occur when the eye pressure is normal.

Regular examinations by an ophthalmologist are crucial for recognising and treating glaucoma at an early stage.
